Swedish side Ostersunds are keen to sign former Manchester United prospect Ravel Morrison.
Morrison was once considered one of the brightest young stars in English football when he came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, but he failed to make the grade and was offloaded to West Ham in 2012.
The 25 year-old is currently under contract at Lazio but that deal is due to expire at the end of the season, and the Serie A club are believed to be eager to sell the former England U21 international who has made just four league appearances for them in three years.
He spent last season on loan at Liga MX side Atlas in Mexico and enjoyed better fortunes, scoring four times in 25 appearances and becoming just the second Englishman to play in the Mexican top flight.
But Lazio are now ready for Morrison to leave in January either permanently or on loan, according to Sky Sport News .
And Ostersunds represent a chance for him to resurrect his career under the guidance of the club’s English coach Ian Burchnall.
Sir Alex Ferguson famously wrote of Morrison in 2015: "Sadly, there are examples of players who have similar backgrounds to [Ryan] Giggs or Cristiano Ronaldo , who, despite enormous talent, just aren’t emotionally or mentally strong enough to overcome the hurts of their childhood and their inner demons.
"Ravel Morrison might be the saddest case. He possessed as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed, but kept getting into trouble."
Morrison’s brightest moment in English football came in 2013 whilst playing for West Ham, when he ran the length of the pitch to score as the Hammers beat Tottenham 3-0 at White Hart Lane.
He scored five times for West Ham that season but ultimately failed establish himself, leaving on loan for Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff before being sold to Serie A.
