Sophie Gradon’s Love Island partner Tom pays emotional tribute after her death

Thomas Powell, who was coupled up with Sophie Gradon in the Love Island villa, has spoken out to pay tribute after she was found dead at the age of 32.

Following in the footsteps of his co-stars from the ITV2 dating show , the Welshman took to Twitter to share his grief on Thursday.

Tom and Sophie had coupled up from the very start of the show and despite Sophie’s brief romance with Katie Salmon, the pair continued their romance outside of the villa.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday Tom shared a poignant tweet from Sophie that she’d shared only six days earlier.

"I genuinely feel that when true & honest human souls get taken away from us, they are the ones who have found the meaning of life," she’d penned.

Alongside Tom wrote: "Always had a way with words. You will be dearly missed by so many," followed by two love hearts.

Earlier today it was revealed Love Island will be paying tribute to Sophie during tonight’s episode.

A representative for Love Island told the Mirror Online: "There will be an In Memory board at the top of the show."

Sophie’s close friend, Ellie Brown , is currently appearing on the current series of the show and it has not yet been confirmed that she has been told the news.
