Swimsuits with sleeves – the backlash against the bonkers bikini trend

Ladies I bear good news. It would seem that the swimwear fashion gods have deemed the long sleeve swimsuit a major new trend.

Sporty, stylish and practical something tells me it might just take off.

After a summer of ridiculous v-kinis, wedgie risers and disturbing under-boob the beach will be a safer place this summer.

And it couldn’t have come a moment too soon.

The idea that women want to wear as little as possible on the beach and are looking to flash as much flesh as possible is more than just a little bit outdated.

Boohoo stripe off the shoulder long sleeve swimsuit was £20 now £4

These bizarre swimwear trends may have taken off on Instagram but most mere mortals are in the market for something a bit more wearable.

Is it really too much to want something that’s comfortable and will stay in place allowing us to so something radical like ‘move’ without having someones eye out?

Can we finally invest in a swimsuit that’s built for doing something other than just lying there?

Yes, it looks our dreams may have come true.

Thankfully there are already plenty of options available on the high street in places like H&M and J Crew, who have collaborated with Liberty creating some beautiful printed styles.

And online retailers ASOS, Boohoo and Simply Beach are also worth checking.
