The X Factor: Celebrity’s Olivia Olsen finds Simon Cowell ‘scary’ – EXCLUSIVE
Love Actually’s Olivia Olson exclusively revealed she found Simon Cowell “scary” when she auditioned for The X Factor: Celebrity.
The 27 year old actress opened up to OK! magazine about how she felt about auditioning in front of the 60 year old music mogul and the other judges Nicole Scherzinger, 41, and Louis Walsh, 67.
Olivia, who shot to fame after playing Joanna appearing on Love Actually, is competing in the new series of The X Factor: Celebrity as a solo artist.
When asked if she finds Simon scary Olivia exclusively told OK! magazine: “He is kind of scary [laughs].
“But Nicole [Scherzinger] was the most intimidating because of how beautiful she is.
“Louis [Walsh] didn’t say much after my audition, I couldn’t tell if he hated me or not!”
She later added: “I’d never met Simon before, but I grew up watching all his shows.”
When asked if performing in front of the judges piles on the pressure, Olivia replied: “It definitely makes me want to step up my game! If people want to vote for me I’d love to win.
“But I think Max and Harvey will win if they make it through, they’re so cute and have tween girls dying over them.”
The American actress, who lives in the US with her boyfriend, also said she thinks her biggest competition on the talent show is former The Only Way Is Essex’s Megan McKenna.

She added: “I’m not really a competitive person by nature, but I am confident in my singing abilities. I think I’m a little bit of an underdog.
“I was really nervous about how the other celebrities would be, but you couldn’t hate any of them if you tried. Everyone was really supportive and we were just all cheering for each other.”
Despite feeling like an underdog, Olivia revealed she’s determined to “put a name to her voice” and explained: “I feel like people only know me as the All I Want For Christmas Is You girl or Marceline the Vampire Queen, and nobody really knows Olivia.”
The X Factor: Celebrity
Olivia, who will have to jet back and fourth between the US and UK to compete on the ITV talent show, spoke about what it was like going to Simon Cowell’s American pad to audition.
The actress is set to compete against other stars on the show who aren’t known for their singing abilities including Ricki Lake, Vinnie Jones and Love Island’s Zara McDermott.
Zara will be part of a Love Island group called The Islanders which also includes Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty and Eyal Booker.
But, the islanders weren’t an automatic choice for The X Factor: Celebrity, as Zara exclusively revealed to OK! online that they had to battle it out with other previous contestants from the reality series for a space in the group.
She said: “We actually all auditioned separately for the show.
“I auditioned and I literally cried in my audition because I was so scared of singing in front of people.
“I think they saw that we would all work together and I think, from what I know, I don’t know 100 per cent, but there were a few other Love Islanders that auditioned as well.
“But the producers ended up sitting down and thinking who would work best together and they ended up choosing the four of us out of all the others that had auditioned and ended up putting us together.”
