Designer Jane Siskin is looking optimistically toward fall, hoping for a more happy, carefree and celebratory time similar to when she first started working in the industry. For her fall collection, the Cinq à Sept designer embraced feelings of love and freedom, while channeling the fashions of the ’60s and ’70s.
The look: A mix of bohemian free-spirit and rock ‘n’ roll edge through Siskin’s signature, feminine modern lens.
Quote of note: “There’s a suit in the collection that literally I wore — maybe not exactly like this — a patch tweed suit. I was an assistant junior sportswear buyer at a buying office and I remember having to do a big presentation, my first one, and I wore this suit with Frye boots,” Siskin recalled, referencing fall’s interpretation. “We brought all of that emotion into the clothes.”

Key looks: Said patchwork corduroy suit in rose, caramel and light brown; a boxy baby blue and white chunky plaid jacket with gem embellishment (a first for the brand on outerwear); free-spirited bohemian frocks; an enveloping plaid blanket coat with fringe trim.
The takeaway: The collection offered easily wearable fashions with the right amount of happy nostalgia.
