From Daenerys to Arwen these are the most popular girls’ names inspired by FAIRY TALES

Celebrities are infamous for choosing interesting names, with the Kardashian clan a good example with Dream, Stormi, Chicago and North some of their choices.

But it seems new parents are also looking elsewhere for a unique name.

Parenting sire Baby Center has released a list of trending girls’ names – inspired by fairy tales.

The popularity of the genre has seen new parents opt for names such as the mother of dragons, Daenerys from Game of Thrones.

These quirky names are a far cry from the most popular girl’s names so far this year, with the website revealing the top five as Emma, Olivia, Ava, Isabella and Sophia.

  • Aine – Queen of the fairies in Irish mythology
  • Arwen – Lord of the Rings character
  • Daenerys – Game of Thrones character, meaning ‘mother of dragons’
  • Diana – Goddess of the woodlands

  • Fayette – Little elf
  • Lorelei – A mermaid in German folk tales
