From Titanic to Ammonite we reveal Kate Winslet's steamiest movie moments of all time as she tells all about sex scenes with her schoolgirl crush

SHE’S the Oscar-winning British actress known for her elegance and poise on screen.

Kate Winslet, 45, has starred in a range of gripping Hollywood dramas – from Titanic to new movie Ammonite.

But the mum-of-three has also appeared in a surprising number of raunchy sex scenes during her stellar Hollywood career.

This week she revealed all about her latest steamy scenes with former Neighbours actor – and her school girl crush – Guy Pearce for HBO series Mare of Easttown.

She said: “There's intimate scenes so Guy and I quarantined in a house for two weeks which was absolutely hilarious. All we did, of course, was learn lines.”

Ever since that car scene in Titanic, Kate has been no stranger topassionate moments on screen.

Here we compile some of her best cinematic romps.

Titanic – 1997

PERHAPS Kate’s most famous sex scene to date involved getting hot and heavy in the back of a vintage car with Leonardo DiCaprio.

And when the cameras stopped rolling, Kate didn't want things to end.

She said: “The Rose in me was really sort of loving the Jack in him, actually. And even though I didn’t feel that way about Leo, it was quite nice to sort of feel that way in the scene. It was quite lovely.

“And I remember lying there thinking, ‘What a shame that’s over.’ Because it was quite nice.”

The pair did form a strong friendship, however, and bonded over “sex talk” on set.

Kate confessed the pair would ask each other for advice, adding: “A lot of those sexual tips he’s given me have worked.”

Holy Smoke – 1999

KATE plays young backpacker Ruth Barron – a headstrong character she describeed as a “ f***ing little cow – in this Indie flick.

Set in India, the character falls under the spell of a charismatic religious guru but when her parents hire a cult deprogrammer P.J Waters to save her, the pair have a fiery chemistry.

She shares a passionate sex scene with actor Harvey Keitel.

Kate said of the movie: “I would never do a nude scene if it wasn't for absolutely a good reason. I think that could be said of all the nudity I have done.''

Quills – 2000

THE blonde plays a washerwoman Madeleine in the notorious Charenton hospital.

It might not be her most glamorous role but she captures the attention of the Marquis de Sade, who is living there in his later years.

But she also formed a forbidden bond with the asylum priest, played by Joaquin Phoenix.

Promoting the movie a year later she said of its sex scenes: “I defy any actor to say it’s easy because it’s not.”

She said one love scene took “all day to film” and left the cast “very exhausted”.

But she added that at the end of the day “you all end up laughing about it and having a good time”.

Iris – 2001

TAKING on the role of a young Iris Murdoch in this biopic, the film focuses on her relationship with younger writer John Bayley, played by Hugh Bonneville.

During promotion for the film she spoke enthusiastically about mimicking the couple’s love of skinny dipping in a warm, heated tank.

"If anyone is used to taking their clothes off, it's me," she joked.

She added: “There’s not an awful lot that embarrasses me. I’m the kind of actress that absolutely believes in exposing myself.”

The Reader – 2008

IN this movie Kate plays a former SS guard who has an affair with a boy half her age.

She admitted her main concern during filming was for her 18-year-old co-star, David Kross.

“My biggest concern to be honest was that David felt comfortable,” she said.

She joked: “But people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”

But Kate had no hang ups about the nudity in the movie “because the story required it”.

Revolutionary Road – 2008

KATE admitted that filming this flick was “awkward” and it’s not hard to see why.

Kate had the unenviable job of filming sex scenes with her pal Leo DiCaprio in front of her then-husband Sam Mendes.

She admitted: “I just kept saying, ‘This is too weird. Leo told me to get over it, but I said, ‘You’re my best friend and he’s my husband. This is definitely a bit weird’.”

Leo recalled: “She was really worried that Sam wasn’t bothered by the fact that his wife was making out with another guy right in front of her.

"I told her it was only acting, but she kept on saying, ‘This is really weird.'”

The Mountain Between Us – 2017

THE actress filmed a steamy sex scene with Idris Elba, as the pair played strangers stranded after a plane crash.

But when Idris got a bit shy on set, Kate decided to take charge.

She said: "Idris was a bit nervous and everything was moving a bit slowly so I just said, 'Okay boys, this is what we are going to do…' and we just got on with it."

Ammonite – 2021

RELEASED this month, the movie tells the love story of fossil hunter Mary Anning and Charlotte Muchison, a younger, married woman, played by Saoirse Ronan.

But Kate insisted the raunchy moments produced her “proudest” sex scenes to date.

She admitted that director Francis Lee was “very nervous”.

“And I just said to him, ‘Listen, let us work it out.’ And we did. ‘We’ll start here. We’ll do this with the kissing, boobs, you go down there, then you do this, then you climb up here.’"

She added: “I mean, we marked out the beats of the scene so that we were anchored in something that just supported the narrative.

“I felt the proudest I’ve ever felt doing a love scene on ‘Ammonite.’ And I felt by far the least self-conscious.”
