There’s serious pressure these days to upload the perfect snapshot on Instagram, so why not look the way you feel?
That seems to be the point of the newest social media photo trend, the “migraine pose.”
Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski have all adopted the look, which pretty much involves placing one or both hands on your temples as if to say “ouch” (or, in some cases, “woe is me”).
According to Elle.com, makeup artist Nam Vo — a favorite of Kylie Jenner — coined the trend’s name.
“I love it because the beauty of your hands frame the face and give it more structure. I always make my models pose this way,” Vo told Elle. “It’s also a great time to show off your manicure.”
Bonus: You can give yourself a pretend face-lift.
But not everyone is a fan.
One real-life migraine sufferer, Sanna from Sweden, told Metro that the people doing it “have no idea what a migraine actually looks like. The pose they’re doing is more like ‘oh, I have low blood sugar and a slight headache.’ ”
