TEN years ago, brides-to-be got to delight in showing off their engagement rings to their loved ones one-by-one.
But in the social media age, you get one chance to do the big announcement – so naturally, you really don't want to mess it up.
That said, one woman's ring reveal has got this reminder forever burned into our brains: ALWAYS GET YOUR NAILS DONE FIRST.
Earlier this week, TikTok user Gaonas shared a video of her new engagement ring design.
Needless to say, the jewellery expert said she'd be pretty happy to receive it herself.
In a video that's racked up over 750,000 "likes, Gaonas showed off the chunky diamond ring – which is flanked by two equally sizeable stones.

She wrote: "Him: Would you marry me? Me: Yuh."
But while people were impressed by the stunning sparkler, most viewers took issue with the woman's gel manicure – which had pretty much completely grown out.

"Them nails are on life support," one replied.
Another added: "If my bf asked me to marry him when I had nails like that it would be a definite no!"
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "My worst fear is having bad nails when getting proposed to."
"I'd be like.. ask again in a few hours and be running to my nail tech," a fourth joked.
