This dehumidifier has changed our lives.
Living in a converted maisonette, we have a damp and mould problem in the "old" part of the house. It's something we've struggled with since we moved in three years ago, and we only really get a reprieve in the summer months.
We previously tried mould sprays, anti-mould paint, opening windows in the dead of winter and even purchasing a smaller dehumidifier to try and solve the problem – none of which seemed to make any difference.
The mould would simply reappear around windowsills, at the back of the wardrobe and under the bed -basically everywhere and anywhere.
Enter Meaco's Arete One dehumidifier. We saw an improvement from day one. There was no more condensation on the windows, the walls felt dry and the house generally felt warmer.
During the first couple of days, the dehumidifier collected so much water that we had to empty the tank several times.
Nowadays, we only need to empty it around once a day – which still seems like a lot for a small two-bedroom flat – though it's something we secretly enjoy as we can see it working.
The Arete One has a built-in H13 HEPA filter, which means that it can be used solely as an air purifier in the summer months when the dehumidifying function is no longer needed. Due to this handy function, we've noticed a reduction in cooking smells since installing the appliance.
