An escape room in Sonoma, California, has taken the popular activity to a whole new level!
Instead of just rewarding participants with the satisfaction of a job well done, this escape room, which just so happens to be located on the grounds of the Chateau St. Jean winery, gives participants wine as they go through the game.
Dubbed “Unlock the Chateau” this boozy activity, which is available Friday through Monday for groups of 6-12 people, is billed as “an escape room like no other.” Like most normal (read: wine-free) escape rooms, Chateau St. Jean’s version takes about an hour to complete, and there’s an array of puzzles and riddles that are solved via clues and hints in the room, which then helps participants “unlock the secret of the Chateau.”
What distinguishes the Chateau St. Jean escape room from its dryer counterparts, however, is the welcome glass of sparkling wine all participants receive when they begin. What’s more? Participants are also given a glass of wine when they unlock the second room, and an entire flight of wine if and when they manage to escape, according to Bustle.
Though the wine itself may hinder your ability to successfully make it through the escape room, there’s no doubt that flight of wine at the end of the journey acts as some serious motivation to get the job done! It also makes the $60 per person price tag a bit easier to swallow.
