‘As a shoe fancier I needed bulk storage,’ she wrote on Facebook.

‘These shoe racks hold 50 pairs each and sit in a corner of my walk in robe. I pick my shoes first and then my outfits.’

Her collection of shoes features rows of red heels, metallic sandals and brightly-coloured court shoes.

Others shared their own collections – including one mother who said she turned her wardrobe into her personal ‘shoe heaven’.

‘These are the Billy Bookcases from IKEA,’ she wrote.

‘I have the shelves two holes higher at the back so you can see the shoes but they don’t slide down. The larger space at the bottom is for boots.’

Others admitted that even though they have hundreds of pairs of shoes, they do not spend a fortune on them and their pairs often only cost $20-$50.
