Champion Chase: Chacun Pour Soi a non-runner in Wednesday feature to leave Defi Du Seuil odds-on favourite

CHELTENHAM Festival went from bad to worse for Willie Mullins as he declared Chacun Pour Soi a non-runner in the Champion Chase.

After a challenging first day, Mullins took his chaser out late on Wednesday morning, with a vets certificate ruling him out.

Early reports indicate the two mile star has an abscess.

Joe Chambers, racing manager for owner Rich Ricci, said: "He's just got a bit of pus in a foot. It's a 24 hour thing.

"It's disappointing, but what can you do?"

It followed Altior swerving the race billed as the race of the meeting yesterday, and leaves Defi Du Seuil as the strong odds-on favourite for Philip Hobbs.

Defi Du Seuil will be around the 1-3 mark, with the Paul Nicholls pair of Dynamite Dollars and Politologue the main challengers.
