Greggs' festive bake is coming back – and we can't wait

The taste of Christmas dinner in a pastry will arrive at branches on Thursday, November 8 – so there's only 17 days to go.

The Festive Bake will cost £1.50, according to Greggs – the same as last year.

If you've never tucked into one of the much-loved lattice pastries, they contain pieces of chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing, and bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce.

It also has a crunchy crumb coating on top.

The bake isn't the healthiest option for lunch at 451 calories – but we expect its fans won't care much about that.

They've already been tweeting excitedly about the near arrival of their favourite festive pastry.

If you're a real Festive Bake obsessive, you can count down the days until it's back on shelves by checking the official Festive Bake countdown website called: Is The Festive Bake Out Yet?

It's not clear when Greggs will launch its full Christmas menu yet, but it's expected to be at around the same time as the Festive Bake's release.

The Festive Bake is launching one day earlier than last year which should please bakery buffs.

Meanwhile vegan Greggs fans could be in for a treat as the bakery chain is apparently testing out a vegan version of its famous sausage roll.

The chain currently still has its autumn menu in stores, which features a pumpkin spice latte.
