Holby City spoilers: Jodie is back – and so is Sahira Shah

Who could possibly replace Jac Naylor on Holby City’s Darwin ward? The question is answered tonight as an old face returns to the hospital. Sahira Shah (Laila Rouass) is back, this time as the new clinical lead.

She immediately marks Kian (Ramin Karimloo)’s card. Since Max (Jo Martin) found him injecting drugs after Jac left he’s been spared getting the sack, but Sahira makes it quite clear she won’t tolerate any more bad behaviour from him. Can Kian knuckle down and prove himself?

Chloe (Amy Lennox) and Nicky (Belinda Owusu) have to quickly adapt to Sahira’s way of working too. But when a patient needs delicate and risky surgery, will Sahira show them she still has what it takes in theatre?

One person who’ll always have her back is Henrik Hanssen (Guy Henry) – there was always a special friendship between them and even a hint that Hanssen’s feelings for her ran very deep indeed.

How are things between them after such a long separation?

Elsewhere Sacha (Bob Barrett) thought – and hoped – he’s seen the last of Jodie (Sian Reese-Williams), so he’s shocked when she unexpectedly turns up.

She seems ready to make amends and claims to be genuinely sorry about what she did to Beka. Sacha’s not convinced and calls the police – but as always when Jodie is around, Sacha finds himself dealing with a completely unexpected situation. And once again lives are in the balance as events take a shocking turn.

There’s a new nurse on AAU. Kylie (Amy Murphy) is quirky and bubbly, but she doesn’t make the best first impression.

In fact Cameron (Nic Jackman), Josh (Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge) and Jeong-Soo (Chan Woo Lim) don’t expect her to last the whole day and even put bets on it. But there may be more to Kylie than meets the eye.

Sue Haasler is the author of five novels and the official BBC Holby City book, which you can read about here.
