The annual spring cleaning period is underway for many. But not all cleaning tasks are easy to undertake. There is always a solution to cleaning an object. However, it may require bizarre cleaning methods. You can clean an array of awkwardly shaped objects, but you just need to implement some out of the box thinking.
How to clean unusually shaped objects
If you own an unusual shaped vase or bird feeder, you may realise how hard these items are to feed.
Glass bottles and vases are renowned to be so difficult to clean that sometimes people avoid using them at all.
Express.co.uk has compiled a list of four foolproof ways to clean these awkward items.
Silicone brush
You can buy speciality silicone bottle brushes to clean awkwardly shaped items such as a tall vase.
The brush has a long, sturdy handle with a set of silicone bristles on it.
The silicone should not damage the object you are cleaning, but be careful if using it on metals or plastics.
Silicone is antibacterial in nature so it works effectively to shift grime and odours.
Rice
Rice is one of the most widely consumed staple foods across the globe, but it can be used for more than just a tasty meal.
Rice is an agricultural commodity with the third-highest worldwide product, behind sugarcane and maize.
To clean a bottle or other awkward item with rice, add a handful of dry rice with some soda water and some dishwashing soap to the inside of the object.
Shake the bottle with the rice inside to clean it thoroughly.

Toothbrush
A toothbrush can be used to effectively clean difficult and oddly shaped items.
Try to use a toothbrush to clean the hard-to-reach places.
You can save your old toothbrush when you move onto a new one.
Toothbrush manufacturers and dentists recommend you replace your toothbrush every three to four months.
Magnets
You can scrub the inside of an odd-shaped glass or vase using magnets.
To use this technique simply gather a sponge and cut it to the desired size and then cut a slit in the side of your sponge.
Insert one of your magnets into that hole and do the same with another piece of sponge.
Place one of these magnet sponge pieces into the vase and place some water and washing up liquid in the container and begin cleaning by moving the other sponge from the outside.
