To make the decadent snack Bec used mini traditional hot cross buns from Coles and two squares of Caramilk.
‘This hack gives you fresh hot cross buns with delicious melted “Caramilk butter” for way less calories! You can microwave or air fry them but I like them to be a little crispy,’ she wrote online.
‘I know we are way off Easter but I’ll never complain that the hot cross buns are too early.’
‘I don’t know why I’ve never tried Caramilk butter before, but oh my god, it’s so good,’ she said.
On TikTok many dubbed the treat idea as ‘dangerous’ while others admitted to eating an entire four pack of Caramilk hot cross buns from Woolworths in one sitting.
‘Great idea! I went to Woolies and they didn’t have the Caramilk ones,’ another person wrote.
On Instagram the short video has since gone viral and been watched more than 60,000 times.

Last week Woolworths also released a recipe for decadent churros using its new limited-edition Cadbury Caramilk hot cross buns.
The simple recipe only takes 20 minutes to make and turns the supermarket’s indulgent hot cross buns into delicious churros served with a creamy Caramilk sauce to dip.
In a video posted to Instagram a Woolworths chef starts by cutting up the Caramilk hot cross buns into two centimetre wide strips, places them on a baking tray and brushes them with melted butter.
