  • Is already known for micro handbags which cost between £260 and £600
  • Also went viral last summer for a gigantic straw hat featuring two-foot wide brim

French fashion label Jacquemus has debuted a bag at Paris Fashion Week that is so small it can barely fit your keys inside.

The brand, which is already well known for its micro handbags which cost between £260 ($345) and £600 ($795), sent models down the runway with the minuscule accessories hanging from a single finger.

Jacquemus, founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus in 2010, launched the miniature bags in white, pink, orange and red, with an equally small ‘J’ emblazoned in the corner.

It is not yet known what the miniature bags will retail for as the collection will not launch until next season.

The fashion line even sent out tiny invites to its Fall/Winter 2019/20 show inside lilac versions of the bag, and hinted there would be more to come.

The impractical styles debuted yesterday in a warehouse on the outskirts of the French capital, which Jacquemus had transformed into a village square.

But it’s not unusual for the designer to launch small accessories – in his Spring/Summer collection this year he included a smaller version of his vanity bags, which are currently on sale.

The tiny vanity case style bags, which hang on a gold chain and currently retail for £180 ($240) are only big enough for a lipstick and maybe a pack of chewing gum.

Jacquemus seems to enjoy bucking conventional sizes for his clothing items, taking Instagram by storm last summer with a gigantic straw hat.

The headgear, which featured a two-foot wide brim, was seen on everyone from Rihanna to Emily Ratajkowski.

The buzz around Jacquemus’ huge hat began to build in early summer, and kicked into high gear when the Danish actress and model Emma Leth chose to wear the dramatic accessory to walk down the aisle.

Hoping to build on his new-found cult status, Jacquemus then sent models down the runway holding enormous beach bags at Paris Fashion Week in September.

And since he sent his beach bags big enough to fit an entire family in down the runway, Vogue has already declared them ‘the latest must have for the jet-set’.

The Fringed raffia maxi bag, called Le Grand Bacci currently retail on their website for £731 ($972).

Jacquemus has become the toast of the industry aged just 29, thanks to his ability to turn an offbeat accessory into an insider must-have – from sculptural heels to that viral hat.

But Jacquemus is not the first designer brand to go tiny on its accessories, with Louis Vuitton releasing a miniature lipstick case, designed to be worn round your neck, this month too.

The luxury French label released the miniature accessory described as an ‘elegant lipstick case’, in Australia. While the bag, which is £885, has already sold out in the UK already.

The pint-sized leather case, branded with the label’s iconic monogram, has already been declared ‘the new It-bag’ by fashion bible Vogue.
