‘This is the ultimate white wash hack,’ Carolina posted on Instagram.

‘Firstly, make sure your machine is spotless. Then, add half a cup of baking soda to the machine.’

You can clean your machine with the help of a dry dish cloth run along the sides and top of your washing machine.

Following this, Carolina said you should add your clothes, good quality detergent, and a bit of white vinegar ‘inside your rinse cycle section’.

‘Wash the clothes at the hottest temperature,’ Carolina added.

‘Then, dry your clothes in the sun.’

What are the laundry tricks you need to know?

1. Tie socks together before you put them in the washing machine so you never lose another pair.

2. Add baking soda to your wash to brighten your clothes.

3. Use any steam from the bath or shower by hanging shirts on hangers in there to lightly steam before ironing.

4. Fold clothes as soon as they are out of the dryer to stop them from wrinkling.

5. Add vinegar to your rinse cycle to make your white clothes even whiter.

Previously, a mother from Melbourne shared the time-saving laundry hacks she swears by, including tying socks together before you wash them so you don’t lose one and adding baking soda to the wash to brighten and soften your clothes.

Chantel Mila said she is a ‘big fan of saving time on washing’, and this is what she has learned from years of cleaning kids’ sports clothes and uniforms.

Chantel’s first trick is that you should always add half a cup of baking soda to your wash when you have a full load.

She also ties socks together before she puts them in the washing machine to make sure she never loses any.

For anyone that hates ironing, there’s a simple way you can get around this.

Chantel recommends you utilise any steam you may get from having a bath or shower in your bathroom by hanging shirts on hangers in there to lightly steam them before ironing.

‘I use shower steam as a natural de-creaser, to cut down the time spent on ironing,’ Chantel said.

Finally, she folds her clothes while they’re warm because they wrinkle as they cool down.
