Prince Harry really did not hold back in his new documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.
Though it mostly focuses on his and Meghan Markle’s recent Africa tour, Prince Harry talked about everything from his feud with his brother, Prince William, to his battle with British tabloids. And not everyone is happy with what he had to say.
A recent report says that Prince William is one of many who took issue with the program.
Prince William is reportedly upset with many of Prince Harry’s comments
The Duke of Cambridge is reportedly “furious” at his brother for several things he said in the program.
For one, Prince William reportedly took issue with Prince Harry’s comments about the stress of living under a constant spotlight, according to a royal source and reported by the BBC on Oct. 21.
During the ITV documentary, Prince Harry said that the negative media attention he and Markle constantly receive affects his mental health. He said that it brings back the trauma of the death of his mother, Princess Diana, who passed away in a 1997 car crash while trying to evade the paparazzi.
“Look, part of this job and part of any job, like everybody, means putting on a brave face and turning a cheek to a lot of the stuff,” Prince Harry said. “But again, for me and for my wife, of course, there’s a lot of stuff that hurts — especially when the majority of it is untrue. But we all need to do is focus on being real, focus on being the people we are and standing up for what we believe in. I will not be bullied into carrying a game that killed my mom.”
His feelings are a total contrast to his brother. “William sees the world differently. Once upon a time, he, too, saw the media as an intrusive and often hostile force. No more,” the BBC reported.
Prince William is also allegedly mad about Prince Harry’s comments about their falling out
In the program, Prince Harry confirmed the rumors that he and his brother have had a falling out. He attributed their “different paths” to the pressures of their royal duties, admitting that they have “good days and bad days.”
“We’re certainly on different paths at the moment […] I’ll always be there for him and as I know, he’ll always be there for me. We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly,” Prince Harry said.
But sources have downplayed suggestions that Prince William is mad at Prince Harry
On Oct. 21, a Kensington Palace source told the BBC that the duke is more “worried” about Prince Harry than anything and hopes that he and Markle “are all right.”
The insider added that there is a current view that the Sussexes are “in a fragile place.”
As of writing, Prince William has not directly commented on the documentary, which aired in the United Kingdom on Oct. 20. It will air in the United States on Oct. 23.
