A dog lover has revealed he’s spent a staggering £40,000 on the beloved pet pooch he refers to as his ‘daughter’, including £1,000 on a party to mark her 7th birthday.

Anthony Welsh, 57, a personal trainer from Liverpool, has provided Princess Cleopatra Superchill with  a life of luxury, showering the Staffordshire Bull Terrier with gifts including a bespoke £1,500 pram, three miniature cars and even a boat.

Cleo is also proud owner of an extensive wardrobe, comprising 65 different ensembles and 175 pairs of sunglasses.

The spoiled Staffie has just turned seven, an occasion her owner marked by lavishing a further £1,000-worth of gifts on his faithful companion.

Cleopatra was treated to the finest tennis balls, a posh feeding station and her very own custom-made mountain bike in honour of her special day.

She was then thrown her own beach party at the Marino Lounge dog-friendly cafe at New Brighton, on the Merseyside coast, along with her bulldog boyfriend, Frank, and Frank’s owner, Toni Green.

They enjoyed doggy birthday cake, doggy steak and partied with balloons and presents – which she opened herself by ripping off the wrapping paper with her mouth.
