It’s the most wonderful time of the year, guys. No, not Christmas or Thanksgiving — heck, it’s not even Halloween yet. It is, however, Halloween Horror Nights time. Fave!
This year marks the fifth year in a row that we’ve been able to attend HHN at Universal Orlando (see how we tackled the event in 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017), but it’s actually the 28th year overall! So, you’ve gotta wonder how the creators of the spooky attraction can keep things new and exciting. Like… is it even possible to make things bigger and better?
The short answer: YES.
Universal
Earlier this year, in April, Universal announced its plans to include a Stranger Things attraction at this year’s All Hallow’s Eve event. The company promised to include everything “from the menacing Hawkins National Laboratory under the U.S. Department of Energy to the Byers home adorned with an erratic display of flashing Christmas lights and the eerie Upside Down woods oozing a shower of floating orb-like spores.”
Now, we can tell you from firsthand experience that, boy, did Universal deliver. Along with the help of Stranger Things creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (a.k.a. the Duffer Brothers), Hawkins, Indiana is now located in Orlando, Florida!
Here’s a 45-second summary of what you’ll experience:
(We know, the shaky-cam footage is exceptional.)
If you’re planning on taking the trip to HHN — which you definitely should — then here are the top 5 Stranger Things moments you’ll get to experience:
The lights at the Byers house.
As they flicker, you’ll actually get to see and hear Joyce Byers scream Will’s name as she tries to slash her way through the wall.
The eeriness of Will’s room.
Again with the light flickering, plus The Clash‘s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” playing all around you. It’s chilling. Where’s Jonathan Byers or Steve Harrington when you need them??
The devastation of Hawkins National Laboratory.
Trust us when we say that it’s even worse up close.
What goes down in Hawkins Middle School.
Don’t worry, Eleven’s here to save us all!
Demogorgon!!!
Last, but certainly not least… Demogorgon! Yes, the Prince of Demons comes out to play — more than once, FYI — throughout the house. Not sure if you watched our previously mentioned footage, but, umm… he definitely threw us for a loop.
Scared? Well, you should be! Even the Stranger Things kids could barely handle the house. Watch Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink & Erica Sinclair enter here:
