Hearts around the nation melted when a couple from The Undateables got engaged on the Christmas special last night.
Viewers first fell in love with Daniel Wakeford, 30, and Lily Taylor, 23, after watching the happy pair hit it off during their first date at a coffee shop last year.
After a whirlwind year, musician Daniel, who has autism, popped the question to the love of his life at her favourite place, Brighton Bandstand – after he serenaded her with his rendition of Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic, ‘All I want For Christmas Is You’.
And according to comments on Twitter, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house with some saying it was their top TV moment of 2018.
‘Seriously the best thing I have watched all year,’ wrote one user, while another said it was ‘the most emotional thing’ they’ve ever seen on TV.
Lily Taylor, 23, who calls Daniel her ‘Prince,’ was overjoyed when her boyfriend of a year popped the question
And one was keen for a follow-up wedding special: ‘Sitting here sobbing after watching this! Congratulations to Daniel and Lily! This programme is just the best feel good telly on the box, can’t wait for the wedding special.’

Musician Daniel has been going out with his girlfriend Lily for more than a year, after meeting on the show just before last Christmas.
Twitter was inundated with fans who cried tears of joy for the much-loved couple – who shared their first date in a coffee shop with the entire nation last year
Daniel pulled out all the stops when he serenaded Lily with Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas is You,’ before getting down on one knee and revealing an engagement ring
The couple met on The Undateables a year ago and quickly hit it off during their first date at a coffee shop
But Daniel decided there was only one wish he wanted to come true this festive season – and that was for Lily to say ‘yes.’
Before the big event, Daniel saved up for six months before buying the ‘perfect’ engagement ring for his future wife.
‘I’m feeling very excited. She will be ever so surprised,’ he said in the festive special.
As Daniel’s mum checked that he could remember the lines he’d rehearsed ahead of the big question, the musician replied: ‘I do know all about my brain.’

As an unsuspecting Lily made her way to her favourite destination, Daniel, with the assistance of a choir, started serenading her with the Christmas class, ‘All I want for Christmas.’
Then the big moment had arrived.

As music-lover Daniel exclaimed ‘I did it!’ and Lily called the moment ‘the best day of my life’ – viewers took to social media to express their happiness.
