Wendy’s UK menu includes Chocolate Frosty and delicious new burgers

We Brits haven’t had much to get excited about over the last year, especially with our favourite pubs and restaurants being closed for months at a time.

But, we’ve certainly taken comfort from fast food chains who are willing to deliver from breakfast until night.

Well, move over McDonald’s and Five Guys because the latest American brand to land in the UK is Wendy’s.

The popular US quick-service restaurant is opening its first branch in Reading – and it's shared some of the exciting menu items set to be on offer.

Do you want to try Wendy's? Tell us why in the comments…

First up there’s the Dave’s Single – a quarter-pound of fresh beef, American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mayo and onion on a toasted bun.

Just the way Dave (that’s the founder) intended.

If you’re less excited about red meat and more interested in chicken, then this next option could be for you.

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is made up of juicy chicken breast marinated and breaded in Wendy’s special fiery blend of peppers and spices paired with cool crisp lettuce, tomato and mayo.

After one bite of this dish you’re bound to crave it forever more.

Plus, heathy eaters aren’t being left out this time, as Wendy’s is adding an Avocado Chicken Sandwich to the list of yummy dishes you can order at the restaurant.

It’s made fresh daily with a signature lettuce blend, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, cool, creamy avocado, Applewood smoked bacon and grilled chicken breast hot off the grill.

If that wasn’t enough, it’s all topped with Southwest Ranch Dressing.

Yum!

Looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth?

Well a Chocolate Frosty might just do the trick.

This signature frozen dairy dessert was first launched in the US in 1969 and has been beloved ever since.

It’s thick enough to use a spoon, smooth enough to use a straw or perfect for dipping fries in to.

We can’t wait to try the entire menu!

Steven Derwoed, Vice President, Global Design and Construction for Wendy’s, said: “We’re very proud of our restaurant design in Reading, and I’m confident that we’ve built a place that our customers will love to go and our employees will love to work.

“The interior has a cool vibe with a focus on natural wood, dark contrasts, comfortable seating and fun art making it feel fresh and current.

“Creating a frictionless and convenient experience for our customers is at the heart of our design, whether a customer places their order via mobile before they set foot in the restaurant, at a kiosk once they arrive or at a traditional front counter with one of our friendly team members.

“We’ve even incorporated an exterior walk-up window to create speedy access for delivery providers so customers can get their Wendy’s food even faster. We look forward to serving customers soon!”
