Who are the Spencer twins?

Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia – whose real name is Katya but goes by her middle name – are daughters of Charles Spencer 9th Earl Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, making them the first cousins of Prince William and Harry.

Alongside their father, mother Victoria Aitken, sister Kitty and brother Louis, the twins moved the South Africa in 1995 when they were just three years old but following the death of Diana, Charles moved back to the UK. He and Victoria divorced in the same year.

Their parents went on to have more children, meaning that Amelia and Eliza have a number of half siblings. Earl Spencer has three other children – Edmund, Lara and Charlotte whereas their mother has another son called Samuel.

Amelia is currently engaged to Greg Mallett and Eliza has been in a relationship with Channing Millard for several years.

What events have they attended?

Despite growing up on the other side of the world, the 29 year olds have remained close to their relatives in the UK, often visiting their father at the family's seat, Althorp.

As a result of their familial connections, the twins both attended the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011. More recently, Eliza was a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ’s wedding alongside Kitty and Louis in 2018.

Making their high-society debut as cover stars for the March edition of Tatler, the twins were described as some of the hottest socialite siblings in the world. Since then, Amelia and Eliza have been pictured at a range of lavish events including Venice Film Festival and London Fashion Week.
