The royal family continues to deal with the repercussions of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made several scandalous claims during the lengthy chat, including accusations of racism, and they denounced the response to Markle’s mental health issues. According to royal expert Robert Jobson, Prince Charles has been manning the official response to the ongoing scandal.
Writing for Hello! magazine, Jobson argued that the Prince of Wales has “taken the lead on how the palace has responded,” due to the Queen’s advanced age and the fact that Prince Philip was in the hospital up until recently (via Cosmopolitan). Jobson reasoned, “The royal family like to do things as a team, and if the team is being trashed, they like to react as a unit and a family.” However, according to another commentator, Her Majesty isn’t too happy with her son in general.

Prince Andrew resigned from royal duties back in 2019, following a controversial BBC interview that delved into his connection with Epstein. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, opined that the two brothers are polar opposites. In fact, Prince William is reportedly the only royal who lives up to the Queen’s high standards.
