ARSENAL will be out of action for the foreseeable future after the Premier League was suspended due to coronavirus.

But all European leagues have agreed to attempt to finish their season before June 30, Uefa have announced.

    Yesterday we finally got confirmation that Euro 2020 has been postponed amid the coronavirus outbreak.

    And Copa America soon followed in putting back this summer’s tournament for 12 months.

    Euro 2020 was due to start on June 12 in Rome and finish at Wembley exactly a month later.

    But what does that mean for Arsenal?

    Well European football have stated they want all leagues to be finished by June 30.

    As it stands, if the current situation regarding the deadly bug improves, then clubs will return to action on April 3.

    Despite the break from football at the moment, there is still plenty of news coming out of The Emirates.

    And transfer speculation is also well underway ahead of the summer window.

    Arsenal face a battle to sign Leon Bailey with Chelsea ready to splash £85m on the Bayer Leverkusen star.

    The Jamaican winger has been one of Bundesliga's brightest talents in recent seasons, with Man Utd also previously showing an interest.

    Liverpool are also running the rule over the speedster, while Bayern Munich would like to cherry-pick another Bundesliga talent – but Bailey's current side would prefer to sell to a non-German club.

    Arsenal’s head of medical services Gary O’Driscoll has reportedly called off his switch to Liverpool after an intervention from manager Mikel Arteta.

    O’Driscoll was due to take over from Andrew Massey after the Anfield medic joined Fifa as the governing bodies medical director starting on March 1.

    Arsenal had already advertised the vacant job and began conducting interviews for a successor after O’Driscoll handed in resignation in January.

    But according to The Athletic, after talks with Gunners boss Arteta and technical director Edu, the English medic was convinced to remain at the Emirates.

    Lucas Torreira had to abandon plans to recuperate from his fractured ankle back home in Uruguay.

    The Arsenal midfielder has been ruled out for ten weeks by the injury suffered during the 2-0 FA Cup win at Portsmouth at the beginning of the month.

    The 24-year-old was hoping to fly to his family home in Fray Bentos while he is unable to train.

    Speaking to Radio Sport 890, Torreira confirmed: “It’s difficult for the family for me to be away.

    “This week I was supposed to be travelling to Uruguay, but all the flights were cancelled due to the virus.

    “In recent days many cases of coronavirus were discovered in London and people were nervous.”
