  • ARSENAL have been warned against signing Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar.

ESPN pundit Steve Nicol said: “What has this guy shown at Atleti, you wouldn't buy him in a heartbeat.

“He's got no goals and no assists [this season]? What was it, £90million.

“Right now, regardless of the currency, who is going to part with their money for him?

“Unless you can get him for £20million… [don't buy him].”

  • MESUT OZIL has a new lease life during Arsenal training sessions, according to reports.

According to ESPN, Mikel Arteta's faith in the German midfielder has resulted in his performance improving on the training ground.

Club sources allegedly claim he is a “totally changed player” since the Spaniard took charge.

He has started in all three games since Arteta took the reigns in North London.

  • EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR has been offered to Aston Villa as they search for strikers to cover their injury nightmare.

The former Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal star is seen as a shock option to fire the club to safety.

Villa boss Dean Smith has been left short of choices after seeing striker Wesley and keeper Tom Heaton ruled out for the season with knee injuries.

It means the  club now have to spread their shoestring transfer budget across two key positions — and  consider free transfers or loans to bolster their squad.

  • BAYERN MUNICH boss Hansi Flick “can't image” Jerome Boateng leaving.

The Gunners have reportedly opened talks with the German giants over a January deal for the 31-year-old.

But Flick cannot see that happening.

He said: “Jerome is a Bayern player. He has trained well during the winter break.

“I can't wait to see what the next few weeks will be like.

“I'm not worrying if he'll leave the club or not.

“I can't imagine that at the moment.”
