  • FORMER Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has blasted Unai Emery on social media following the 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United.

The ex-Gunners man was left disappointed by the Spaniard's tactics at Bramall Lane.

In a series of tweets, he said: “Change full backs play holding ffs emery how many times man with your greasy hair.

Before adding: “FFS look I appreciate chambers is trying his very best as a CB but don't u think we need more than that to compete.”

And finally: “I'm done with emery.”

  • ARSENAL defender David Luiz has revealed a disagreement with Frank Lampard led to his Chelsea exit.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Luiz said: “Me and Lampard, we had honest conversations. Man to man, me and him.

“His ideas of football were different to mine. We just agreed: “OK, we move on”. In an honest way, in a mature way.

“We played together, we won together. We won the Champions League, the Europa League, everything together.

“It was done in a mature way.”

  • DANI CEBALLOS has called for the Gunners to “stand up” after the defeat to Sheffield United.

He said: “Yesterday was not the day, but the show must go on and we have to put our mind on Thursday.

“This league is long and we keep fighting. Gunners always stand up.”

  • SOL CAMPBELL has been appointed the new Southend United manager, signing a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.

He is followed to Roots Hall by ex-Manchester United striker Andy Cole who takes the role of forward and attack coach while Hermann Hreidarsson is the assistant coach.

The former Arsenal and Spurs defender, 45, replaces Kevin Bond in the dugout after he left the club last month with caretaker boss Gary Waddock taking charge of recent games.

It is the second managerial job for Campbell, who performed nothing short of a miracle to keep Macclesfield Town in the Football League last season.

  • MESUT OZIL sent a happy 70th birthday message to Arsene Wenger – less than 24 hours after he was dropped by Unai Emery again.

The midfielder has made just two appearances for the Gunners this season after failing to impress the Frenchman's successor.

Wenger forked out a club record £42.4million to sign Ozil for Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013.

The pair went on to win three FA Cups together before the French manager ended his 22 year reign with the club.
