N'GOLO KANTE is set to miss the rest of Chelsea's league season after going off with a hamstring injury against Watford.
Maurizio Sarri says the focus is now on ensuring the Frenchman is fit for a potential Europa League final and as a result he will need to miss the next two games.
Sarri also blamed himself for Kante's injury, commenting: “The problem is with his hamstring, but I think I made a mistake. Probably today he had to rest.
“Sometimes its difficult to put him on the bench, a player so important like Hazard and Kante but you have to do it.
“It is very difficult to recover him for the next two matches, we want to play the final so he is lucky, we have to recover him for the final.”
But Kante's injury may be no bad thing if it means Ruben Loftus-Cheek gets more minutes in the Chelsea first team.
The England midfielder was in excellent form against Watford, settling the nerves by bagging the opener straight after half time.
Elsewhere, Eden Hazard's representatives are said to be asking the club to let him join Real Madrid.
The Belgian reportedly reached an agreement last season to leave Chelsea if he so chose and now expects it to be honoured.
