  • HOT ROD

Former Newcastle striker Faustino Asprilla believes Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez should move to Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd.

Speaking to RCN of the Wolves target, he said: “James does not have to go to suffer at Wolverhampton, a team that always fights after relegation.

“James has football to be on teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal.

“James does not need to play for Real Madrid to dazzle us here with his football. For me he is a starter in any team.”

  • ACT OF KINDNESS

Aston Villa have donated 850 packed lunches to charity after the Premier League was suspended because of coronavirus.

The West Midlands club made the choice to donate all of the food to charity – and are calling on organisations to get in touch to collect from Villa Park.

Fans have reacted to the gesture, expressing their happiness at the act of kindness.

One fan, Nancy Spear tweeted this: ''This kind of stuff I want to see!! Way to work together, people!''

Another tweet simply reads: ''Well done villa.''

  • ROUD AWAKENING

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson has claimed the club missed a trick in not signing Olivier Giroud in January.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “They tried to get a number nine in the January window.

“With Harry Kane’s injury, closely followed by Son’s injury and now Bergwijn they have not got anyone who is comfortable playing that position.

“To not get a striker in January has proven… It was very important.

“I think it was a real miss not getting Giroud in January. He has got game time and Chelsea and played a lot better. He would suit Mourinho perfectly – occupy the centre-backs and give space for those behind him.

“It is a difficult sell for Spurs, getting a top striker to play while Kane is out. I really think they missed a trick not signing somebody.”

  • BY YECH

Soon to be Chelsea star Hakin Ziyech will reportedly try and convince the Blues to sign his Ajax team-mate Andre Onana.

Chelsea are understood to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper with Kepa Arrizabalaga failing to win over Frank Lampard.

And according to the Daily Mail, Ziyech is looking to persuade the West Londoners to sign the £50million-rated shot-stopper.

  • YOU'RE MY ANGEL

Chelsea are desperate to land youngster Angel Gomes on a free transfer at the end of the season as they look to get one over rivals Manchester United.

According to the Metro, the Red Devils playmaker, whose contract comes to an end this summer, is wanted by Frank Lampard.

United have offered the 19-year-old £25,000-a-week to try to keep him at Old Trafford.

It is understood he is on around £10,000-a-week at the moment.
