The Gabon frontman, who appeared to ‘like’ a tweet criticising Unai Emery for subbing him at the weekend, has been accused of hustling his way out of the German club in January.
The 29-year-old signed a five-year-deal at the Bundesliga side in July 2015 but completed a £56million move to the Emirates at the start of 2018.
Former Dortmund coach Peter Stoger, who was in charge of the club when the deal was done, has claimed the striker was unprofessional to secure the Gunners switch.
He told BuliNews: “He left me no other choice.
"He trained well four days of the week. But to underline his wish for a transfer, he skipped team meetings before games or refused to run during the final training. We did our best to keep him for at least another half a year, but Auba wasn’t ready for that.”
Auba felt guilty about his month-long sulk as he apologised to the Austrian coach for his behaviour.
Stoger said: “Honestly, I got along well with him although he kept me pretty busy for four weeks
"But Auba personally apologised to me before joining Arsenal.
“He told me that his behaviour had nothing to do with my person and that he had felt my support.”
