Torino have rejected the offer and are holding out for a permanent deal worth around £12.5m

Smith Rowe handed new deal

Arsenal have rewarded Emile Smith Rowe for his impressive pre-season displays with a new long-term contract at the Emirates.

The midfielder, just 18, has starred under new boss Unai Emery, having been handed a first-team chance on the club’s tour of Singapore.

Smith Rowe, born in Croydon, scored a wonderful solo effort against Atletico Madrid before also shining in the 5-1 thumping of Paris Saint-Germain.

The youngster, who joined the club at the age of 10, made 11 appearances for the club’s Under-23s last season and featured regularly for the Under-18s.

But he has made a keen impression on Emery, and the Under-17 World Cup winner is being tipped for a bright future.
