Ramsey was unable to help Arsenal break the deadlock and left the field at 0-0 after 63 minutes.
The Wales star, who looks set to leave the Emirates after a decade this summer, was swapped for Alex Iwobi.
He handed the captain’s armband to Mesut Ozil – who scored his side's second – having been given it himself by Petr Cech following the keeper’s first half injury.
As Ramsey, 27, came off, he shook his head and walked past Emery with his eyes focused on the floor.

He whipped in a ball from the right which deflected in off unlucky Watford defender Craig Cathcart.
Ramsey was not holding a grudge, however, and could be seen standing up and clapping the opening goal.
