Neville said: “It’s a massive achievement, it’s been typical of Gareth [Southgate]’s reign.

“He’s ripped up the rulebook, you don’t have to be at a fashionable club, a Champions League club, you don’t even have to be the most popular with the media or fans.

“If you’re in form in training and doing it for him, he’ll pick you for a game, and that’s working out for him because the lads who are out on the pitch are in the best form.

“Saka’s been electric in every game he’s played. I was happy he rested him on Saturday, it would have been too much for him, but tonight he should be absolutely flying”

Former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has been pictured landing in Poland ahead of his move to Gornik Zabrze.

The 36-year-old was given a hero's welcome after landing in the airport to fulfill his career-long ambition of returning to his boyhood club.

The former German international grew up supporting Zabrze in Poland after he was born in the neighbouring town of Gliwice.

Podolski has publicly expressed his wish to play for the country's top-tier outfit following spells in Turkey and Japan.

The forward bought shares in Gornik – Poland’s second-most successful club – back in 2014 shortly before he lifted the World Cup with Germany.

He wrote on his website: "It’s my dream to finish my footballing career playing for Gornik.

"Gornik Zabrze is the team I support in my Polish homeland.

"Every year when I visit my family in Upper Silesia, I love to meet up with my friends and acquaintances there for a good chat."

Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to Lyon for midfield gem Houssem Aouar following a drop in the asking price for the player.

Le 10 Sport says the Ligue 1 star could cost the Gunners under a third of the £54million fee club officials hoped to get in 2020.

Aouar, 23, had been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates before the start of the 2020-21 season.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is thought to be keen on the versatile attacker who can play centrally or on the wing.

In September reports in France claimed Lyon had turned their noses up at two separate bids from the North London giants of £31m and £34.5m.

However, Le 10 Sport says the Gunners have returned with a fresh offer for the midfielder whose current contract with the French outfit runs out in 2023.

And it is thought LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain could be set to rival Arsenal for the France player’s signature.
