We haven’t seen the last of Carmelo Anthony in the NBA, perhaps.
The 10-time All-Star and former Knick, who remains Rockets property despite no longer being part of the team, has NBA options, according to The Athletic.
The website reported Anthony is expected to find a new home before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, though no specific teams were reported. It is also unclear if Anthony would be traded or waived, which would give him the freedom to sign with whomever he wants.
Anthony flopped in Houston after signing a one-year, $12.4 million deal, lasting just 10 games in which he shot 40 percent from the field and was averaging 13.4 points per game. Since he’s been in exile, Anthony has been seen in workout videos with personal trainer Chris Brickley. LeBron James has pushed the Lakers to sign his friend, though there has been no movement in the month since James went public with that desire.
Perhaps that is one of Anthony’s options.
