Chelsea hold talks with AC Milan about selling three stars – but Italian giants only want loan deals
The club have reportedly held talks with Blues chief Marina Granovskaia over potential deals to land Cesc Fabregas, Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen.
Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso is suffering a huge injury crisis at the club with three central defenders and two midfielders currently sidelined until next year.
The fiery Italian manager will look towards Chelsea in a bid to help salvage their season and will hope fellow compatriot Maurizio Sarri will be able to help out.
Both central defenders Cahill and Christensen have fallen out of favour at the Bridge with the English man braced to leave with his contract expiring in the summer.
Danish international Christensen, 22, has already threatened to leave the club if he cannot force his way into the side.
And with Chelsea ready to make a move for Daniele Rugani, it could see the duo fall further down the pecking order.
But it remains likely that Chelsea will only let Christensen leave on a loan deal.
AC Milan will also look to lure Fabregas to Italy with the 31-year-old ready to move on.
The former Barca and Arsenal man has yet to make a Premier League start and with his current finishing in the summer, January will be the last opportunity that Chelsea can cash in on his signature.
However, selling any of the players to AC Milan could prove a problem with the Italian side under pressure to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
It's understood they would prefer to take in players on loan rather than pay a transfer fee.
