CHELSEA might be without talisman Mason Mount for their Carabao Cup final with Liverpool
The England midfielder injured his right ankle in Saturday's Club World Cup final win over Palmeiras.
Mount, 23, asked to leave the pitch after 31 minutes of the final and left the stadium on crutches.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed it happened when an opposing player fell on his ankle.
The star was pictured hobbling around with heavy strapping on the injury as he celebrated with the cup.
Despite initial fears he could face a length spell out with ligament damage, The Athletic report he could recover in a fortnight.
That would rule him out of Saturday's Prem trip to Crystal Palace and next Tuesday's Champions League last-16 first-leg tie with Lille.
Blues fans will now be keeping fingers crossed the influential midfielder can recover in time to face the Reds in the League Cup showpiece at Wembley on February 27.

The Athletic point out Mount suffered a similar injury in September 2019 and was back in action five days later.
The star did struggle with ankle issues earlier in his career.
Mount has emerged as a key player for club and country and has seven goals and eight assists for the Blues so far in this campaign.
