Chelsea target Jose Callejon's agent denies contact with Blues and reveals winger's release clause expiry date

Callejon is one of a number of players believed to be in the crosshairs of former boss Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to replace Antonio Conte this week.

The Spanish winger, formerly of Real Madrid, has a release clause worth £20million in his contract.

But Callejon’s agent is adamant that the Blues have not been in contact.

And he also adds that the bargain £20m release clause in Callejon’s deal is set to expire at the end of the next month, giving more power to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Manuel Garcia Quillon told Radio Kiss Kiss: “His release clauses expire on June 30.

“However, I can deny having any contact with Chelsea, Villarreal, Valencia and Milan for him.”

Other Napoli players to be linked with the Blues include striker Dries Mertens, right-back Elseid Hysaj and centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Sarri has long been linked with taking charge at Stamford Bridge and is said to be close to the hot seat after Chelsea agreed to pay Napoli £4.5m for his services.

Additional reports suggest Sarri is also going to take up the option of living in the five-bedroom house built in the grounds of Chelsea’s Cobham training centre – just like doomed predecessor Andre Villas-Boas.
