Crystal Palace have a plan to keep Wilfired Zaha awy from top clubs

Crystal Palace are weighing up offering Wilfried Zaha a new deal that would make him the club’s top earner.

The 25-year-old forward has become Palace’s talisman and inspired them to Premier League survival this season with nine goals and three assists.

And they could now reward their player of the year with improved terms to extend his stay at Selhurst Park and fend off his suitors.

The Eagles’ current highest earner is £120,000-a-week striker Christian Benteke.

But any new contract for Zaha, who signed a five-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week last May, would see his wages bumped up to a figure in excess of Benteke’s.

Zaha’s sparkling form has made him a target for Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool, while Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on his situation.

But Zaha has indicated his happiness at Palace, boosting their chances of tying him down.

Zaha said: “I have no plans on leaving. I’m enjoying my football, you can see how much I’m enjoying it. This is my home and there’s no reason for me to leave.”
