Crystal Palace tracking Den Haag defender Wilfried Kanon with potential January bid lined up

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson is looking to bolster defensive options in January and the Ivory Coast stopper is high on his shopping list.

Hodgson is looking to sure up the Eagles defence and is short of central defenders with the experienced Scott Dann still missing with a long-term knee injury.

The 25-year-old has been earning rave reviews in the Dutch top flight this term and a host of clubs in England and Spain are on red alert.

Everton were tracking the big central defender six-footer with a view to take him to Goodison Park in the summer.

However, the Toffees turned their attention elsewhere with the arrival of Marco Silva who replaced Sam Allardyce.

Despite being contracted at the Kyocera Stadion until 2022, Den Haag are resigned to losing the defender if a bid matches their valuation.

And after five years in Holland, Kanon is keen to try his luck in one of Europe’s elite league’s if the opportunity arises.

A potential January switch to Selhurst Park could be on the cards for the defender who has 30 caps for his country.

After losing to Wolves on Saturday, Palace will be looking to get back to winning ways after the international break when they go to Everton on Sunday 21 October.
