Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora's "machismo" means rematch will be another heavyweight classic, says former world champion Paulie Malignaggi

The pair served up a thrilling heavyweight contest in their first meeting two years ago, with Whyte edging past his rival on a split points decision in Manchester.

And Malignaggi, a former two-weight world champion, is relishing the duo going head-to-head again, praising Matchroom for setting up the mouthwatering rematch on December 22 at the 02 Arena.

He told SunSport: “I love this fight. It will be another classic.

“Sometimes styles make a fight and that's exactly the case with these two.

“They both have a style that blends together which ensures it's a really fun fight every time they get in the ring with one another.

“Matchroom has done something really smart here getting the rematch.

“You’re never going to get a bad fight with these two.

“It will be close, but I think Whyte will win again – he can't afford to lose this."

Malignaggi, who won 36 of his 44 bouts during his professional career, says he has the ultimate respect for both fighters and the way they approach the sport.

He added: “They’re tough street guys, who have a certain amount of machismo and don’t just want to win in a boring fight.

“I've got a lot of time for them both, they say it how it is and let their fists do the talking in the ring.

“They want to show they are more man than the other guy.

“When two guys like that come together and their attitudes and styles collide it makes for an exciting fight – I can't wait for fight night now."
