    84. Jeers ring around Wembley as Denmark control the ball well, moving freely between England's lines to attack.

The jeers turn nervy as Delaney breaks down the right, but quickly become cheers as the Dortmund midfielder overplays it.

    82. Mount wins a free-kick off Delaney, and this will be another chance for Shaw to send a cross into the area.

Stones meets the left-back's delivery with a glancing header on the turn, but it's one that drops well wide.

    80. Another Shaw cross intended for Kane is booted half-clear, but only as far as Phillips.

The Leeds midfielder lines up a long ranger, and pulls it wide.

    79. Christensen does go off, and on comes Joachim Anderson as a like-for-like replacement.

The man who won Fulham fans hearts best not break England ones.

    77. The tension is almost unbearable now.

Christensen overstretches to control a long ball, and that's likely to be the end of his night. The Chelsea defender was already feeling the effects of a pulsating contest.

    74. The corner is cleared, but England keep on coming.

Phillips works it forward, and then Kane steps in ahead of Norgaard and goes down inside the area.

A huge cry goes up around Wembley, but Danny Makkelie points for a free-kick in the other direction.

VAR review the incident, and there is momentary hope of it being changed, but the decision comes through that the referee's decision stands – and it's probably the right one.

Kane looked to connect with the defender's leg before being brought down himself.

    73. Mount gets to the byline and steps a cross up that doesn't pick out an England shirt…

…but almost catches Schmeichel out! The Denmark stopper does well to turn it behind.

    72. Phillips gets a foot in to win the ball in midfield, and then it's over to Grealish.

With his first act, the substitute bursts forward, draws a push from Wass to win a free-kick that earns the Danish sub a yellow card.

    69. The roar goes up for Jack Grealish!

The Aston Villa man is England's first change as Gareth Southgate withdraws Bukayo Sako after an another impressive effort.

Raheem Sterling will move to the right with Grealish operating off the left.

    67. It's a triple substitution for Denmark.

Jens Stryger Larsen, Mikkel Damsgaard and Kasper Dolberg are all removed with Daniel Wass, Yussuf Poulsen and Christian Norgaard brought into the game.

    64. Christensen goes down for some treatment, more as a means of interrupting the flow of the game than anything else.

It looks as though the Danes are considering mass changes.

    63. After a patient spell of possession, Sterling looks to work the Denmark defence.

He feeds Saka to hold up in the box, and then looks to latch on to a return. Sterling's denied an effort, but it falls to Mount, who curls a shot into Schmeichel's hands.

The next goal will be so crucial, and it really could come at either end.

    59. Now England come forward again.

On the overlap, Shaw crosses into the box, only to find it deflected off course by Hojbjerg's heel.

For a split-second, it looks to be travelling towards the corner, but thankfully for the Danes it instead drops behind for a corner.

    57. Denmark are showing again what a danger than can be.

Braithwaite wins a corner on their latest attack, and it prompts Maguire into winning a header in his own area.

The Danes keep the ball alive though, alive that is until Dolberg fails to keep it in play when crossing for Braithwaite.

    55. Maguire! Super stop from Schmeichel!

From a free-kick in a similar position to the one that just saw him cautioned, Maguire gets up highest again – this time fairly – and sends a header towards the far corner.

It looks destined for the net until Schmeichel leaps across to push away one-handed. Outstanding.

    51. A smart snapshot from Dolberg, and an even smarter stop from Pickford.

However, the flag then goes up for offside so strike that fine piece of play from the record.

    49. The set-piece delivery is floated over to the right where Maguire is up to challenge Kjaer and Christensen.

No sooner has the England defender got his head on it, the referee's whistle is blown and the game's first yellow card is shown.

It's Maguire booked, supposedly for using his arm on the Danish captain.

    47. A rare lapse of concentration from Rice gives possession away to Delaney with a slack pass.
