NASHVILLE — A fan was transported to a hospital for medical care after falling from an awning at Nissan Stadium during the Titans' 34-10 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Thomas Carrico Jr., 37, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was in critical but stable condition Sunday night, Nashville police said in a statement.
The fall occurred during a T-shirt toss in the third quarter when a shirt landed on an awning in the stadium, a witness said. Police said Carrico lost his balance and accidentally fell over a lower level railing and through the awning that covers the home team tunnel.
Barbara Boske, a dispatch supervisor with the Nashville Fire Department, said the agency received an emergency call about 2:20 p.m. reporting that a man at the stadium fell “from a balcony onto the concrete below.” Boske said she could not release more information about the man’s injuries.
