Inter Milan 2 Juventus 3: Gonzalo Higuain scores dramatic winner to keep Serie A title hopes alive

The Old Lady were on the brink of leaving the San Siro with nothing after 10-men Inter Milan produced a shock second half comeback.

Juventus have won six straight Scudetto's but their dominance appeared under serious threat when an Andrea Barzagli own goal looked to have put title-rivals Napoli in the driving seat.

But lady luck was on Juve's side when Juan Cuadrado and Gonzalo Higuain pounced in the 87th and 89th minutes to restore their advantage at the top.

In a fiery affair, Juve appeared to be cruising to victory when Douglas Costa fired them ahead on 13 minutes.

Two minutes later and it almost appeared game over when Inter's Matias Vecino was shown a straight red card for a studs up challenge.

It should have been plain sailing for Juve but nobody could have scripted the second 45 minutes of action.

With Juventus slow out the blocks, Inter's hotshot Mauro Icardi levelled matters after heading in Joao Cancelo's cross.

And like a flash, Inter had completely turned the game around when Barzagli failed to keep out a drilled cross on 65 minutes.

Juve boss Max Allegri called in the changes as they pushed for an equaliser.

After Paulo Dybala's free-kick was saved spectacularly by Samir Handanovic, Cuadrado found space on the right and his cross hit Milan Skriniar before trickling into the net.

The drama wasn't over and moments later Dybala's wicked delivery found Higuain who couldn't miss with his head.

It means Juventus are now four points clear of Napoli at the top while Inter miss out on the chance to move into a Champions League qualification spot.

Napoli can close the gap to a point if they beat Fiorentina on Sunday.
