The Jets selected defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd with the ninth pick of the third round (73rd overall) of the NFL draft on Friday in Arlington, Texas.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Shepherd comes out of Division III Fort Hays State University in Kansas, where he was the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.
He finished his college career with 168 tackles and 10 sacks in 36 games.
