Jets sign Joe Flacco to one-year deal as Sam Darnold’s backup
The Jets added some much-needed insurance for Sam Darnold on Friday.
They agreed to bring in Joe Flacco to serve as Darnold’s backup, landing the veteran quarterback on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million, according to ESPN.
While Flacco underwent neck surgery in early April, he should be expected to be ready for the season if it starts on time in September, according to the report.
The 35-year-old Flacco was the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII and had spent his entire career with the Ravens until playing for the Broncos last year. He appeared in just eight games for the Broncos, throwing six touchdowns and five interceptions.
