Liverpool receive major boost as Klopp’s former player confirms interest in move
Mario Gotze has revealed he is interested in working with Jurgen Klopp again.
The German playmaker was linked with Liverpool when he rejoined Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich in 2016.
Gotze has revealed the deal was actually close and he would relish the opportunity to link up with his former boss.
“I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again," he told DAZN.
“[The desire to work with Klopp again] still exists. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp.”

Lyon claim Fekir deal OFF

Liverpool looked set to complete a £53m deal for the Frenchman on Friday and agreed a five-year contract with the player.
They wanted to get it over the line before the World Cup gets underway next week but the deal hit a last-minute hitch on Friday.
Liverpool have so far have refused to comment on suggestions there were issues with the medical, amid reports they had requested a second opinion on certain issues.
It remains unclear what caused the problems but Lyon have now confirmed they have ended negotiations in a short statement.
