Prediction

Los Angeles Chargers 23, Detroit Lions 20

Moneyline ( ?)

The Chargers (-139) open up this game as a road favorite, despite some significant injury news this week. However, there isn’t a ton of value in betting on the road favorite. Instead, Detriot (+115) is interesting home underdog moneyline pick if you believe the Lions can bounce back after a Week 1 tie.

Against the Spread ( ?)

The common belief here would be to take the home underdog here in the Detroit Lions (+2.5, -106) as home-dogs typically do well early in the season. However, the Chargers (-2.5, -115) are just a bad matchup for the Lions. Los Angeles has just too much talent on both sides of the ball and are one of the better teams in the AFC. Look for this game to stay close for a while, but for the Chargers to cover late in Detroit.

Over/Under ( ?)

The total (46.5) for this Week 2 matchup seems quite high for these two teams. Detroit would love to make this a low-scoring contest, which seems likely given the Chargers’ historically slow starts when playing at 1 p.m. E.T. Look for the UNDER (-110) to hit.
