Man Utd and Tottenham's horror fixture list pile-up could dent top-four hopes

Both teams will be embroiled in battles against direct Premier League rivals while fighting for life in the Champions League round of 16.

The Champions League draw was merciless for Spurs and the Red Devils.

Mauricio Pochettino's men will lock horns with in-form Borussia Dortmund who lead the Bundesliga by nine points – ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich.

Jose Mourinho's side will face star-studded Paris Saint-Germain, spearheaded by the lethal trio Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

In addition, both clashes will come while Tottenham and United are fighting their direct Premier League rivals in the top four race.

Three days after the second-leg at Parc des Princes on March 6, the Red Devils will travel to the Emirates before hosting their bitter rivals Manchester City a week after.

Meanwhile, in the build-up to the decisive clash with Dortmund on March 5, Spurs will play Arsenal and Chelsea away – with all three games jammed in a week time.

Tottenham fans seemed confident ahead of the challenge, while United supporters appeared to be less optimistic and had a dig at Mourinho.

One Twitter user, @jamied90_, wrote: "We’ve had worse before lads."

Another, @Thelad99Jack, added: "Nice couple of warm up matches for the boys before the big one against Dortmund".

While a United fan, @Michael181918730, commented: "All I can see if 5 wins with Zidane in charge."
